      IDENTITY

      Yoko

      About the project

Yoko is a sushi restaurant located in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, specializing in fresh fish cuts. For its branding, the name "Yoko" ( 洋子 ) was chosen, meaning "sun child" or "good, positive child," to connect Japan's cultural heritage as the "land of the rising sun" with a soft and familiar Japanese name.

The branding design approach is minimalist, with a focus on simplicity and balance, keeping the logo and brand elements minimal to allude to Japanese minimalism. This design philosophy allows for a clean and sophisticated visual identity that effectively communicates the restaurant's focus on fresh fish cuts and Japanese heritage.
